About the games on Playnook
Playnook is a small collection of free browser games. Every game runs straight in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to download, no account to make and no app store to visit. Your best scores, streaks and achievements are saved on your own device, not on a server.
Board games against an AI
If you like a real opponent, start with Chess vs AI, Checkers vs AI or Connect Four. Each one has an easy setting for learning and a harder setting that plays properly. Checkers follows the standard rules, with forced captures, multi-jumps and kings. Tic Tac Toe, Connect Four and Checkers also have a Play Online mode, so you can share a link and play a friend in real time.
Puzzle and logic games
Sudoku has several difficulty levels, notes and hints, plus a new Daily Sudoku every day and printable sudoku for paper. Minesweeper is the classic version with flag mode and chording for fast clears. 2048, Block Puzzle and Word Nook are good when you want to think for a few minutes without pressure.
Card and memory games
Klondike Solitaire is the patience game most people grew up with. Spider Solitaire lets you choose 1, 2 or 4 suits, and FreeCell has the classic numbered deals 1 to 32000 plus a daily deal. Memory Match is a quick way to train recall, and it works well for children too.
Quick arcade games
For a short break, try Snake, Whack-a-Mole, Bubble Pop, Neon Dash or the idle game Cosmic Clicker. Most rounds take less than five minutes.
